About
We are Don and Teresa Murray and live in rural Jefferson County, Ohio. We reside in an area that was once known as Osage due to the osage oranges that grow here. So, the Osage Beagler.
Don: I can’t recall a time when beagles and hunting did not exist in my life. My Dad started my interest in beagles and rabbit hunting when I was a kid and a friend introduced me to the gundog beagle field trials a few years ago. My wife was relieved when she attended her first trial realizing I was not the only obsessed beagler, as she called me. We both enjoy the dogs and the numerous friends we have gained by attending the trials. I look forard to meeting more beagle enthusiasts.
Teresa: I did not grow up with beagles but hunting was a large part of my Father and four brothers life. Then I met Murray. One of our first dates 30 years ago was a squirrel hunt. I fell asleep at the base of a tree. I became a beagling enthusiast after we were married and started acquiring more beagles. And yes, I did think he was obsessed with rabbit hunting and beagles. It was a major topic of conversation and winter activity. After meeting the other beaglers and attending field trials I was hooked. I haved gained so many friends and sincerely enjoy the fellowship at the trials. I will be doing most of the posting on this site as Murray spends most of his free time with the dogs.
We both hope that you enjoy the site and will come back often. I will try to keep everything updated so that when you visit you will find something new. I would encourage folks to get a page of their own at www.beaglehunters.com. It’s a nice site for beaglers to exchange views and have a page to let others see and know your dogs and what’s going on with your beagling.
